What is an RSS feed?

RSS stands for "Rich Site Summary", but most people like to say it stands for "really simple syndication". In escence, RSS is one of the newest web formats to distribute information. Many websites -including Copywriting.com- syndicate their content through RSS to whoever wants it.

Why is RSS good?
RSS solves two very important problems with web content distribution. First, it allows you to stay informed by retrieving the latest content from your favorite websites without having to actually visit them (this is a huge time saver)... and second, RSS helps you protect your privacy by not having to give out your e-mail address to join each website's newsletter.

How to subscribe to an RSS feed.
There are two main ways through which people subscribe to RSS feeds: A feed reader program that resides on their computer or through an internet based RSS reader service.

Some popular feed readers include Amphetadesk (Windows, Linux, Mac) and NewsGator. Additionally, the newest versions of the most popular web browsers (Microsoft IE, FireFox and Opera) now have integrated feed reading capabilities. There are also a number of web-based feed readers available. Bloglines, My Yahoo, and Google Reader are among the most popular.
