I'm still not very sure yet unfortunately. The only thing I know right now is who I'm not voting for, and that would be Hilary Clinton and Obama. I just don't think that either of them are cut out for that big of a job, and the majority of people I know hate Hilary with a passion. She shouldn't get rights to be a president just because she was first lady anyways.

If you do SEO or copywriting work for local businesses, how have you found your success with targetting local Keyword Phrases, for example "landscape gardeners in beverly hills" etc?

I have recently taken on a couple of clients and had success targetting local keywords like this, I found them to be low competition and easy to get 1st page rankings, but the traffic is minimal and leaving me eager to find more sources of local traffic other than using PPC.

Any suggestions or thoughts on this folks?

As a general rule I charge around $15 for a very basic SEO article of around 350/400 words. If Im writing a feature article of around 1000 words, I charge around $120, although when writing for UK based magazines, I dont accept less than £80/1,000 words.

I think you may need to rethink the way you work (with respect), and try and turn the tables a bit from 'I get' to 'These are my fees'.

Edited to point out that this is for content writing - fees for copywriting are much higher

I was just going to ask this question I have not used these services (the paid versions), as I've been able to get work without going that route. Some of my writer friends have had good success with these sites and feel they are worth the fees, while others have expressed they are not worth the money. Personally, I don't like bidding for jobs anyway.

Thank you for the link. I skimmed it quickly and have saved it to read in depth later. There is a lot of good information there. I know I need to learn these concepts and incorporate them into my future work. On a personal level, I plan to start up several niche-type blogs next year, so knowing how to drive traffic is imperative. There is a lot to learn, but it will be worth the effort.

It seems like everyone is talking about the importance of social bookmarking for driving traffic these days. The only problem is, I don't have a clear handle on the concept. If I had to explain it to someone, I would be in big trouble. Can someone explain it to me or maybe share a link that discusses the benefits and how-to's in understandable terms?

I know several writers who post articles to Associated Content and e-How more for the longterm passive income, which is based on page views, as for any immediate cash rewards. Do you participate in any of these sites, and if so, do your efforts seem to be paying off? Also, what sites do you recommend for passive future income?

I see content and ghostwriting as much the same thing, and copywriting as more advertising material.

I didnt think I had a problem with ghostwriting, and still dont when it comes to writing content for the 'net, but recently I sat in a coffee shop reading a magazine, and there was 'my' article, with someone elses name on...seeing it in print like that made me choke a bit on my coffee!

I dont think I could cope with ghostwriting a book, and then seeing someone else get the credit - I need to do something about my ego!

Do you have a favorite website for finding SEO article jobs? In terms of quanitity of offers, I have seen many jobs pop up on Digital Point. I have found that to be a good starting point because there are is generally a good variety of offers. Some of the offers are very low in terms of pay, but it's a good way to build experience and make contacts. Are there other sites you can share that have provided SEO writing opportunities for you?

Hm, I think it's better to contact the owner of the site first. I'm sure there have been numerous instances where a person has copied the work of another site word for word and just doesn't realize that it's illegal to do so. That way, if it was just a mistake, you wouldn't have to feel pangs of guilt for wrongly accusing someone of something they just didn't take the time to learn more about.
