Was it a need for a greater calling or was it just that you were good at it and needed to make some money. Was it an intrinsic factor or an extrensic factor? |

QUOTE(Silver Songs @ Dec 2 2007, 05:58 PM) I'm still not very sure yet unfortunately. The only thing I know right now is who I'm not voting for, and that would be Hilary Clinton and Obama. I just don't think that either of them are cut out for that big of a job, and the majority of people I know hate Hilary with a passion. She shouldn't get rights to be a president just because she was first lady anyways. Exactly my Belief. I just feel that Hillary is a corporate puppet, and i really dont know what to think of obama. I really need to study him more. I guess i need to look over the libertarians a little more too because they feel we need to go back to the original constitution. |

Does anyone ever submit their clients articles to the article directories like ezinearticles.com? I heard that doing this can bring some pretty good traffic and help with the search engine rankings. |

QUOTE(webmartyr @ Nov 29 2007, 03:28 AM) If you do SEO or copywriting work for local businesses, how have you found your success with targetting local Keyword Phrases, for example "landscape gardeners in beverly hills" etc? I have recently taken on a couple of clients and had success targetting local keywords like this, I found them to be low competition and easy to get 1st page rankings, but the traffic is minimal and leaving me eager to find more sources of local traffic other than using PPC. Any suggestions or thoughts on this folks? You need to find an seo to outsource to that can get the really tough keywords into the top of google. I know someone who has been doing this for 4 years. I have him partnered up with me soon on a 100 website project. If you want i can give you his contact email and portfolioand you guys can talk. Trust me when i say tough keywords i mean super tough keywords . Some that are searched 30,000 times a month or more. Just shoot me a pm. |

QUOTE(passionatepens @ Nov 28 2007, 04:27 PM) Hi, As a general rule I charge around $15 for a very basic SEO article of around 350/400 words. If Im writing a feature article of around 1000 words, I charge around $120, although when writing for UK based magazines, I dont accept less than £80/1,000 words. I think you may need to rethink the way you work (with respect), and try and turn the tables a bit from 'I get' to 'These are my fees'. All the best pp Edited to point out that this is for content writing - fees for copywriting are much higher You guys need to get away from the freelancer sites and forums that only pay 1 to 2 cents a word. Im pretty sure you can find better paying clients elsewhere(hint , hint). Remember with copywriting it isnt about talent just, its about knowledge to find better clients:). |

Give it a show, it can't hurt. |

QUOTE(jnjsarauer @ Nov 28 2007, 05:53 PM) Thank you for the link. I skimmed it quickly and have saved it to read in depth later. There is a lot of good information there. I know I need to learn these concepts and incorporate them into my future work. On a personal level, I plan to start up several niche-type blogs next year, so knowing how to drive traffic is imperative. There is a lot to learn, but it will be worth the effort. Just remember one thing. The money might not come quickly so do not make the one crucial mistake other would be webmasters have made. DO NOT GIVE UP:). Once you found your money making method its just a matter of duplication. |

QUOTE(jnjsarauer @ Nov 28 2007, 05:39 PM) It seems like everyone is talking about the importance of social bookmarking for driving traffic these days. The only problem is, I don't have a clear handle on the concept. If I had to explain it to someone, I would be in big trouble. Can someone explain it to me or maybe share a link that discusses the benefits and how-to's in understandable terms? Social bookmarking is very important in not only getting traffic but also getting backlinks. The instant traffic will get your site exposure with new clients and the links will get your site up in the search engine rankings. Here is a good link i have used before http://www.doshdosh.com/the-importance-of-...edia-marketing/ |

QUOTE(jnjsarauer @ Nov 28 2007, 05:32 PM) I know several writers who post articles to Associated Content and e-How more for the longterm passive income, which is based on page views, as for any immediate cash rewards. Do you participate in any of these sites, and if so, do your efforts seem to be paying off? Also, what sites do you recommend for passive future income? I would recommend that anyone who is a good writer pay someone to make them a simple nich website in their field(very cheap) , slap some adsense ads on it and do some basic seo(signature links , social bookmarking etc) and let the income start coming in. |

QUOTE(passionatepens @ Nov 28 2007, 10:10 AM) I see content and ghostwriting as much the same thing, and copywriting as more advertising material. I didnt think I had a problem with ghostwriting, and still dont when it comes to writing content for the 'net, but recently I sat in a coffee shop reading a magazine, and there was 'my' article, with someone elses name on...seeing it in print like that made me choke a bit on my coffee! I dont think I could cope with ghostwriting a book, and then seeing someone else get the credit - I need to do something about my ego! pp This is only one part of why i dont do ghostwriting either but i will be looking for one next year. I have a very unique true story that will need a good ghost writer that can fill in the blanks. |

Burr, I would die in snow now because of my condition, but i love the way snow looks in pictures. There is an added benefit to my condition. I can take almost any heat known to man lol. This summer i went mountain hiking in 108 degree weather. I was wearing a jacket as i was coming down from my hike. This guy was holding his girlfriend's hand and immediately left her and started staring at me. I asked if there was anything wrong? He said " dude arent you hot in that jacket lol. |

Naz i would have to say also that good images need to be there with the content as we are visual creatures by nature and need to be able to visualize an image on a website for us to also keep coming back. Content is king but images are pincesses:). |

QUOTE(jnjsarauer @ Nov 28 2007, 01:33 AM) Do you have a favorite website for finding SEO article jobs? In terms of quanitity of offers, I have seen many jobs pop up on Digital Point. I have found that to be a good starting point because there are is generally a good variety of offers. Some of the offers are very low in terms of pay, but it's a good way to build experience and make contacts. Are there other sites you can share that have provided SEO writing opportunities for you? Like i posted here many times before dp people just dont pay enough for good seo articles. If I were you, I would be taking a look through one particular search engine which i feel is 100% better than google at finding anything you want. Its alexa's search engine . It is unfluttered with seo websites and gives very accurate feedback. |

QUOTE(Silver Songs @ Nov 28 2007, 12:58 AM) Hm, I think it's better to contact the owner of the site first. I'm sure there have been numerous instances where a person has copied the work of another site word for word and just doesn't realize that it's illegal to do so. That way, if it was just a mistake, you wouldn't have to feel pangs of guilt for wrongly accusing someone of something they just didn't take the time to learn more about. Maybe if they gave you in inbound link on their home page that might make things better for you because you would get a very strong homepage link and they would lose some ranking juice by having your content on their site. Sounds like a fair tradeoff if you cant get them to pull off the content. |

Here is a little hint. You need to find places to advertise your services where there are either better paying clients or very little competition. There are such places online but you need to really look hard to find them:). |

Why should u care if they are stealing your content? Duplicate content should get them penalized. If you had that content up on your site first he will have a super impossible time getting ranked before you in the searcxh engines anyways, so he is really killing his site by doing this anyways. |

I learned by going through all the seo forums like dp and v7n and also from helping to create the content in my own websites. The first thing i learned there was that copywriting took much more than just slapping some content on a site and expecting teh site to start selling immediately. You need to tweak the content constantly to get the viewer to feel close to teh article in some way. |
