I wanted to give all you bloggers in here a heads up. Google now has video ads for your blogs that are linked to YouTube. Click throughs to the video pays you!

I was thinking about printing some business cards to advertise my services. Do you all think I should post both copywriting as well as seo writing on the same card?

I know when I was researching some website names, they offered me all of the websites with that name and different dot names. Like, dot com, dot net, dot info. Do you all think it is worth it to buy up all the dot names or just a waste of money? I want to drive traffic to my main website.

I can guarantee I am no expert in any one thing. I simply try to learn as much as I can about the basic knowledge of an area and that saves the ground work time when writing. I too love having multiple niches, seems easier to know a little about a lot!

I think the trouble with headlines is that everyone is using the same strong keywords over and over again so there is little or no hope of ranking highly on search engines anymore. The market is just so flooded, we have to be more unique than ever.

I knew those verifications were to tell if you were human or not, but I never understood how a "bot" could have gotten that far in the registration. Now I understand. Thanks, Verb!

I have no idea how people write for that kind of money. And to tell you the truth, I have never come across a site that did. I know of one site, I think it is called ReviewStream, that offers very low pay. But all else that i have written for seem to pay rather well.

I agree with that as well. I love to use keyword tools that tell me different combinations of keywords that are searched for and I try to hit them all in my copy.

I searched and did not find any comprehensive lists. The best sites can sometimes be found on other writing sites. Just search the forums.

Niches are truly important time savers. To find a great niche, use what you already know. I am skilled in knowledge about hysterectomies, medicine, twins, home improvement and some business topics. So, I write toward those whenever possible. The articles fly by that way!

I write for many different publications and websites. I overuse note cards. I write each of my assignments on a note card and write a time on the top. Like, this should take 10 minutes, 15 minutes, etc...then I separate them based on time. That way if I have a free 10 minutes, I pluck a 10 minute card and go at it.

I hope someone chimes in on this one. I would like to know if there is really a different with a website than without one. Does it help?

Businesses may make more money, but they also take away that freelance freedom. I know that when I hit a good job or assignment, I suddenly feel bogged down, like I am weighted with something. I love being able to work for myself!

I actually just read about this today. Google has a program in place that weeds out these "white words" so they are not counted any longer. But, in the beginning it worked for people who wanted to cheat.

I found this answer for you just in case you were wondering. Yes, you need a business license to sell anything.

I love the people who can blog every day like it is a religion. I forget for weeks then pick up my pieces and move on, only to forget again in a few days. I am a lagging blogger.

I admit it, I am an over user of this cool symbol. I use it here...there...and every where...especially when and where it is not needed. It is like I am thinking and I want to write that idea that I am thinking!

Hey there all. I am a newbie both to this site and to copywriting. I am in the infancy stages of learning all I can before launching my career goals toward this lucrative genre. I have found so much great information here that I am sure I will be a member for a long time.

I also am new to copywriting but I've been working online as a free lancer also and trying to learn how to make it thorough copywriting also. Seem like a very lucrative work.

Copywriting has always been evasive to me. I find words so comforting though, so I decided to make sure I was the best writer first and then move on to copywriting. I push most of my work through freelancing websites to better my grammer and I am going to launch my own site next year. Cross fingers and toes.

Good Sunday Moring All.

One thing to remember is that search engines put together keywords to form
phrases you search for too. For instance the word 'web' gets picked out of urls,
page titles, and linked with other words to form phrases. Yes, use key phrases,
but don't rule out individual words when you do.

Blessings.

You know I have been writing for a little over a year and I still find this battle. Many of my pieces are keyword rich and they do very well on search engines. While others, I look up relevant keyword phrases and they tend to be more lax on rankings. Maybe it is just my writing style, but I value keywords more than phrases.

Alright not so novice copywriters, I want to start my own website. Do I have to have a business license to do this? If I am selling my work, can I do so with this license? I am at a dilemma with this topic. Please advice me!

QUOTE(Verb @ Oct 30 2007, 08:33 AM)
Hiya Folks.

I am jumping in to say... I don't recommend free hosting.
It looks and IS unprofessional. Free web sites scream internet
amateur (or worse). I have never purchased any items from
a web site that has free hosting or from sub domains.

I also do not buy into rss feeds that put ads on my web sites.
I know everybody does that, but I don't. This will get poo-pooed
and look old fashioned. Tough nuggies. That's OK, as I am used
to it. It is not about control, oh, maybe to a certain extent it is.
If I am paying, I choose, not someone else. I want expressly family
friendly web sites only. I do not want some child clicking off of any
of my web sites and finding uh, you know, anything adult in
nature. I know all about rss and how it works and still do not choose
to participate. Just a personal preference.

Free hosting almost always has rotating banners (the ones
that flicker drive me nutso), rss feeds and/or other things
they place on your page or pages. You lose control over the
content and therefore it looks like you don't care enough about
your own services to put out a few bucks towards design, hosting,
marketing and putting forth a professional attitude. How often
do you see free hosted sites in google when you search for
products? I never see them when I search so how much
good can a web site be if they do not get good positioning
in the search engines?

My Mother company (BEK) owns 36 domains and manages a
multitude of others and I can tell you that although BEK sells
hosting and other web services, selling any of these services is
not my intent here. I would not steer you wrong and my personal
feelings aside - free hosting is for personal pages and gaining a
web presence only.

Business and free hosting are not compatible.

I have to jump in here and say that I think websites are wonderful things. Yes, we are more apt to be able to make a compelling presentation of our work, because we write. Great things! But, we are also more critical, so things go much slower.

I plan on starting my own website at the beginning of the year. I hope it works as well for me as I will for it!

I have more than a little trouble as a newbie with the evasive comma. There are places where I would put a comma and then I see the same sort of statement written somewhere else without a comma. Does anyone else have this trouble?

It's a crafty addition, I must say, Miguel! The search engines will simply adore all the fresh content when you get the individuals who own a blog on Copywriting.com posting regularly. Good idea!

I have to second Wildhoney. This is an ingenius idea. Especially if you get a bunch of SEO copywriters on board. They are bound to hit the rankings quick! Many props for this idea!
