Right now I would have to say that my favorite TV show is House. I also like the Daily Show and Colbert Report.

In middle school and high school we had classes for typing. I learned the method and used it for those classes, but right now I rarely actually position my fingers correctly. I seem to have developed a style of my own I guess. Its kind of similar to the traditional style but much more random.

To tell you the truth, I don't see my parents or siblings enough for support to be a major issue. I'm sort of young and haven't found the need to start my own family yet. smile.gif

I would have to say that I pretty much work whenever I feel like it, paying attention to deadlines or my own sense of urgency. I have no particular schedule as to work days vs days off.

Yes, I agree with romanticmannnnn's assessment. The search engines certainly do care about whether a page is unique content or not. Its a good idea to try to use an article as few times as possible if you care about the rankings for it.

That is very cool. I am personally very interested in external seo and have also found that strong keyword link building is the best way to gain top rankings for your keywords.

I personally work a lot on online projects that I pretty much do at my own discretion. If you are interested in doing work online by managing your own copy on the web or writing content for the web then it is a good idea to learn a lot of things about seo in particular. You may be expected to write your stuff with seo in mind. The best way to do this is to read up on the forums as jnjsarauer suggested and post specific questions that arise as you learn.

I certainly get slump moods for work. Sometimes I just get very disinterested for a very long time and want to do something else. Eventually I am usually fortunate enough to get through it and enjoy work again.

I think that depends. Sometimes they are looking for a specific keyword density for the article which they will generally tell you beforehand. Otherwise I'd say their just making sure your don't overlook keywords like you say.

I do all of my work at home. I work in my room where I can shut the door and close off the rest of the place. I usually end up doing a lot of stuff in front of the TV with my laptop though.

Here is a link to an article about this new rule. I think index and rel are interchangable attributes so it doesn't matter which of the two you use.

Google Nofollow Rule

I have been using PCs forever but my laptop recently died on me. I received a new laptop from dell with pretty high specs and vista and it continually froze and crashed on me until the point when it just stopped starting up. All of this was in a matter of days.

This disaster sparked my curiousity into whether macs are actually more reliable than PCs. I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the subject.

I juggle between classes and multiple side projects at once and yes it is certainly very helpful to be organized. I used to use a calendar on my laptop that sent me alerts for important things and also listed my schedule on my desktop but the laptop actually died a few days ago. I quickly set one up on google calendar and have been working with that. I do a lot of things online and I think using the computer as a scheduler can help a lot.

I heard that google recently changed their policy on the index=nofollow rule. Basically, putting "index=nofollow" in the <a> tag for links tells google's spiders not to follow through to the other site, so google doesn't increase it's rankings or index the site based on your link. The new rule (as I heard it) is that you are obligated to use it with links if you are linking to another site reciprocally or if they are paying for the link.

Any thoughts on this? It seems to me that this rule could make it difficult to engineer pr through backlinks.

Yeah, that is a very good point. I've heard of google being pretty ban-happy at least with regards to adsense because of all of the problems of invalid clicks. Things like odd clicks from adsense are fairly usual but they can generate a little of suspicion from google. I think they take their index very seriously as well.

I have been doing completely online work my entire experience with copywriting. I have always been in the opposite position as you describe. I was skilled with computers and internet so I jumped into online right away.

I used to make the mistake of mistyping i's and e's but word eventually evolved to autocorrect it on the spot which is helpful. I am mildly dyslexic which I think causes it. I guess that would have to be my most annoying mistake mainly because I do it myself.

I do websites, wep page copy, seo writing, and some general articles. I guess the main other place that I write is in school. I'm still in college.

I once made the mistake of using "orgasm" instead of "organism" in a project. Turned out something like "the dangers of some tiny orgasms...". Spell check didn't pick up on it but my client sure got a good laugh. smile.gif

helloo

I'm a web page developer with a strong practical interest in copywriting from California. Hope to learn a few things and maybe even help out here and there.

Have a good day.

I used to have a small content site for a specific niche. At one point a website popped up that was literally a complete copy of the content and most of the layout. I was able to email google and have their site removed from their indexes and banned from adsense.

I have never had to fire a client but I can imagine that the circumstances could arise like yours. I think perhaps you should write out an agreement or contract in a way that avoids such circumstances.

I've never written out a formal agreement but I have been thinking about doing so lately.

I once sold ad space on a page of mine for a large chunk of money to a relatively large company through a professional advertising agency that they hired. I remember that they were unable to write a check that is not addressed to a business. So perhaps if you are expecting relations with somewhat large online businesses it is a good idea to get the liscense anyway. Not sure if this was just company policy or something else though.

I was recently talking with a potential business client and they asked me to supply them with an agreement to detail the respective rights for the project. I would like to know if anyone has any articles or sample agreements used for copywriting that they can show me.
