So what do you all think of Twitter, the micro-blogging concept that seems to be stirring up interest across the net?
Personally I think it's basically just another chat-room-type amusement and nothing to get excited about.
But I have been known to be wrong...
Your views...?
Hi.
Twitter is HUGE... and in my opinion it's the best thing to
happen on the internet after e-mail.
For me, It is a great way to stay in touch and build solid
relationships with new and interesting people. And a very
nice way to market stuff online (although you've got to be
very careful to not spam other users).
I even made a video about twitter marketing... here it is:

And if you want to follow me on twitter, here's my microblog:

I agree Miguel, twitter is awesome. It's a tool, just like anything else. I have made some great connections via twitter that I wouldn't have made otherwise. So I love it. lol.
Love twitter! Been tweeting off an on since last year and wonder what I did before that, you know? It's like, once you "get" twitter, and know how to go about interacting there, it's the ultimate social media place which includes Dolby surround sound, 3D, waterfalls, prat-falls and smell-a-vision. Interaction is the key to tweeting success, not posting ads.
I've read somewhere recently that Facebook is now number four in use on the web. Since twitter interacts with Facebook, I bet twitter will be in the top five "most memberships" soon enough. Time's online mag already has twitter in the top 10 for "social media."
I look for a barrage of twitter like sites that offer more or less the same thing in new design modules. Since the hacking of twitter last week (beginning on Aug 6th, 2009) and lasting for some folks until today (Sun Aug 9th, 2009) there have been articles such as "Where Were You When Twitter Almost Died?" I had to LOL at that one.
Some people were so freaked out over it at Facebook (which also saw some major hacker problems at the same time) they could talk of nothing else. Withdrawal of any kind is a hard pill to swallow. I guess it depends on what you are addicted to. I say, don't get addicted to a keyboard but you can't go by me... I spend way to many hours at a keyboard for work to spend all my free time at one too. But THEN I do spend some free time on this darn thing.
Twitter is like anything else, for those who understand the meaning of real social interaction, it will be a fantastic business tool. For those who spam ads all over the place, or hawk porn, or scammy MLM type (non)business it will remain the same - spam/scam. Don't follow those folks, AND don't allow them to follow you, and you'll catch on soon enough.
