Hi.

The directory looks good, but I'd probably move the categories
to the top to make it more intuitive for the user (or maybe just
shorten the amount of stuff to read before reaching the actual
article categories).

In concept, the Article Directory is very good. I think that you have done quite a few things right to start one. However, just some points you would like to consider for overall improvements :

1) Design : Very basic IMO, I dont think it is attractive enough. Thought it might be very functional, as a visitor it does not leave me coming back for more. A good design can make a difference between repeat traffic and just random one time visitors.
2) Branding : Small changes, for example some kind of logo to go with the name. You obviously have got a good domain name. I think you should exploit it.
3) Testimonials : Marketing your particular niche is tough considering that you are competing in such a tight market. Would definitely like to see some testimonials from users which will encourage visitors to log in an contribute.

Have you done this all by yourself?? Pretty impressive as a start. I will get in touch with you regarding writing articles, there are plenty of clients who require these services.

However, price may not be that competitive. I was offering 1.5$ irrespective of length of the article. But some people prefer more quality and will pay top dollar for good work.
