New here - seems like most of you here are. I have been devouring the material I can and am at a loss that no one has recommended the copywriting.com training course with Mr. Alvarez. I am interested in learning as much as I can, and thought that taking a course could give me some immediate direction. It seems that most of the posts that I've read, indicate that there is a lot (which is true) of free material available and that many (I believe most) paid courses are scams. Does anyone recommend this course or any course specifically?
I am highly motivated, have some education ( a BS ) and am currently self employed (own/operate a masonry business from home). Building is terribly slow in our neck of the woods and I hate to admit it...but building was never my big interest (more my husbands' thing), I would love to expand my horizons even if it is only mentally.

I would love a 'mentor'. I've been my own boss for so long, doing my 'work' that it is a bit difficult knowing how to approach other businesses.

Any recommendations for copywriting.coms course? Mr. Alvarez?

Thanks for your help.

One more thing - there is some spam and some porn on the copywriters forum - couldn't tell you the name of the post as I have kids here and it was so NOT appropriate! Moderators might want to get rid of that.

Hey...I'm new on here as well.....there is definitely a ton of information for free online....and I mean - a ton! I too have been looking for a LIVE seminar - copywriting course to take maybe over a weekend or something....it's hard to find such things....without it looking hoaky.

I'm curious to know about Alvarez....

There's also very good books to read....copywriters who have published good work.

Eventually, you must simply take the dive! Go for it....get your feet wet. It all starts with one client.
