Has anyone who may have been doing "in-person" or on-site projects made a complete transition to online work only?

Maybe the real question is, "Can a person with weak Internet marketing knowledge get enough work online to transition to no more "in-person" projects?" I've stayed away (rightfully and appropriately) from trying to get projects that don't just need a writer, but also need someone with super-solid Internet marketing savvy. As a result, I'm taking a bunch of small projects that don't amount to much of anything. Also, they don't add anything to my resume that I don't already have plenty of. blink.gif

I know the obvious solution to this is to become more expert at Internet marketing, but I spend all my time doing these small, simple, projects; and, to be honest, I kind of like it that way. Its just that its harder to find enough of those writing-only projects to imagine ever being able to work only online.

Hi there.

I'm afraid I'm not one of those that has successfully switched to a full online work. My online efforts part-time only with long term goals. biggrin.gif I'm only starting to learn internet marketing too and I don't think we'll make the transition to earning a living online if we only keep doing small jobs for somebody else. We'll have to make a web presence too. smile.gif

I began and remain with online work only. I'm more mystified about marketing techniques out in the 'real world.' I believe there are some things to get used to, and many things to learn about online copywriting, but there are also a lot more great resources (like this site!) for copywriters online.

I started with in-person a long time ago and then there was a time where my writing
was totally online. About a year ago I started poking around for "in person work" again.
So I just go back and forth and can't really make up my mind. Now THAT is all my
writing projects combined... for copywriting I've had strictly online clients so far.

I no longer do any on-site work. I have kept some of my previous clients who were face-to-face types in the past, but all of our business is conducted over the internet. In my case, I see no reason for sit-down meetings with clients.

I have been doing completely online work my entire experience with copywriting. I have always been in the opposite position as you describe. I was skilled with computers and internet so I jumped into online right away.

I am new to the forum and new to blogging/web site building. Looking for a good forum to learn some great techniques and slow my burnout...it's only been a few weeks and I'm already overwhelmed. Anyway hope to gain a lot and share what I come to know.
