The majority of people on this site seem to be freelance copywriters that contract specific writing for clients. I do that, but also do a lot of copywriting for my own businesses.
Has anyone ever considered - or done - PLR bundles? PLR is private label rights. Basically, you are ghostwriting article packs for other people. For example, you would write 25 articles about Investing and sell the packs for a set price to a set number of people. |

I have not done this and did not even know there was such a thing until a few weeks back. There is a discussion going on about this topic over on the WAHM board (under WAHM's Who Write). I am thinking of giving this a go when I have some time in my schedule. Another thing on my to-do-list.

Hi.
I belive that getting hired to ghost-write a pack of PLR articles is a great way to get some experience working as a freelancer (especially for those just getting started in SEO copywriting). The only downside to this is that the payout is quite frankly pityful. Mostly due to the extremely cheap outsourcing to India and other countries where a few dollars go a long way. My suggestion is that you consider that type of a job as a way of learning the ropes of the freelancer business... but don't really expect to become a millionare for it (there are much higher paying jobs you can get as a copywriter - for example writing salesletters and direct response e-mail promotions). All the best! Miguel Alvarez Copywriting.com |

I've never thought about doing that, although what I've had in mind was something similar. I have a few areas in which I've written a number of articles. I've often wondered if it would work to put together a giant collection of articles on one topic and offer them for sale under a kind of, "If you're looking for articles about cars" type of thing. I've thought about packaging them in smaller batches of, say, five. In my "rough draft" stage of considering this I've thought about then marketing to specific sites. I'm sure people are already doing this type of thing somewhere; but, of course, I've also imagined doing it better than everybody else. |
