No, this isn't a weather report
I really don't mind writing about Christmas in June or July. I love Christmas! But I do have a wee little issue with going from carols and wrapping presents in "real life" to writing about sunburn the same day. Maybe I'm just too fickle. |

I do tend to write a lot of outlines/rough drafts for seasonal articles in the midst of the particular season because inspiration comes easily, and the writing is effortless. I file my bits and pieces until the editorial calendars tell me it's time to send out queries/submissions for that particular season, and then I pull out the best ideas from my file. I do still have to do final drafts and rework on those pieces at odd times of the year, but it's a lot easier for me than starting from scratch.
