Hi,
I'm doitnow. Well I'm a rather short and precise person. What I like: Short and precise videos. Not long winded videos Credibility: nowadays before I subscribe to any IM newsletter, I only ask myself one thing: Has this marketer being involved in selling Non IM staff: If the answer is no sorry answer is unlikely I will subscribe to his newsletter. I prefer people like Mark Ling, Ken Calhoun, Colin Mccodugal who are living proof that they can involved in both IM and Non IM niches. They truely walk the talk What I dislike: Any thing that is long: that will take your attention away. Hype: Why I called myself: doitnow Do you know why most people failed online? That's because they keep buying and buying and not applying what they learn! solution: make a commitment to yourself and do it now! Long story short: I'm not a native English speaker, but that does not want to stop me from being learning copy writing. Michael Alvarez, are you a Mexican or an American living in Cancun? Let me ask all of you one thing: Is every one born to be a copywriter? Is every one born to be a graphic designer? Is every one born to be a software engineer? Is every one born to be a doctor? It is only through practice, diligence and perseverance that we become skilful in what we do. |

Hi.
Well said 'doitnow'. The key to writing great copy is writing, writing, and then writing some more (even when you don't feel like it). And to answer your question... I was born in Mexico City, then lived in the northern part of the country in a place called Saltillo (near the border with Texas). Finally a few years ago, I got married and moved to paradise city - Cancun. All the best! Miguel Alvarez Copywriting.com |

Do you feel you're getting your money's worth there? Does it take a phenomenal amount of time each day? I'm happy for you finding your passion (mine is graphics, but not being photoshop savvy is a downfall so that won't be my make-a-living arena) I love to write, so maybe that will be my saving grace when I get good enough to attract the big bucks. I like your idea of having "Copy-Buddies" because we all need someone to bounce ideas off of, and share victories and defeats with - supporting each other's dreams. Everyone have a great rest of the week, Donna Hey Donna, I'm glad you asked about the AWAI course -- I LOVE it! Being that it's a correspondence course, it takes as much time as you decide to put into it p/day. Yes, it's worth every penny. I must admit (first to myself) that I haven't been writing for almost a month. But I've decided to NOT beat myself up for it...........like usual. Instead I've decided to start over -- today. Thanks for responding! |

Hi Miguel,
I was surfing the term "copywriting," looking for some job postings for copywriting clients, as I had just finished working with a client on his web sales copy and was looking for new assignments when I was intrigued that someone had purchased the name Copywriting.com. What a surprise and delight it was to find that it was by you, Miguel Alvarez. You probably don't remember me at all. You were very encouraging when I created my first website, The Empowered Soul, some three years ago. Well, it is still alive and well, with a wonderful loyal list of subscribers. I now work entirely from home. I just love your blog--the technical and the artistic elegance of it. Like all your work, this is another masterpiece. I immediately registered and I have set up a blog called Copywriting Journal. I started Copywriting long before I knew a lick of html and only knew how to fix hardware problems, with computers and networks. I hope to post some new content in it on a daily basis. Thank you for making this resource available to us. I just scanned some of the posts. What beautiful people you have here already. I'm looking forward to learning how I can contribute to this new community. Cheers, Saleem Rana -------------------- |

Hi! My name is Stephanie Anderson, and I recently found your website. Looking through all these introductions is a bit intimidating! Everyone here seems very intelligent and well spoken (or written!)
I am still exploring my options as a writer. Fulltime, I am a stay at home mom of two wonderful children, ages 2 and 3. While they are napping, I don my other persona as writer, working constantly to improve my writing skills and testing all venues of my craft. I look forward to getting to know everyone on this board! |

Hi Sal! I don't know if my blog would be appropriate here...it may not apply to copywriting. Though I've been musing on writing one on:
The Amazing Adventures of Circusmama! Watch as she balance a three year old on one arm and a plate of dishes on the other, whilst surrounded on all sides by a two year old turning somersaults! And of course, circus music would need to be playing in the background. It could get interesting... |

Hi Everyone...
I'm Katharina from the east coast, USA. I've been a print freelance writer for quite a long time and an internet copywriter for a little less time. First and foremost I'm a music publisher and songwriter. All of the hats I wear and jobs I do come back to writing in one form or another. I'm looking forward to hearing what you all have to say on the topic! |

Hi Miguel, and helloo to all!
My name is Jessalynn Coolbaugh, and I hate to admit that I'm just getting around to introduce myself. I've been a freelance copywriter for a little over 20 years now (no, please don't ask me to give away my age...lol...it's still 29 live in the Ozarks, where I am helping to take care of my in-laws. I hope that y'all will be helped by my input, and always feel free to ask for advice when needed. I'm looking forward to making many new friends here, and helping as many as I can. After all, this is a great career, and has been good to me and mine throughout the years! To our success and continued education... Jessalynn Coolbaugh |

I have only just noticed this spot - which I'm afraid is fairly typical of me - I just walked in and finding myself in such excellent company, simply sat down. Very rude of me.
So - I am an Englishman of middle years, married with a son at university and a daughter in her twenties who lives in America. What's left of us - wife, two dogs, cat, two ferrets left over from old rabbiting days - live in Pembridge, a medieval village in Herefordshire, surrounded by countryside that Shakespeare or Constable wouldn't feel alien in, the twisting, high-banked lanes, the small fields where Blake's lambs still gambol, under skies Turner might have painted (and if that wasn't enough, we've got a great village pub, inglenook, flag floors, beer from the pump, lively conversation - the only 21st century intrusion being the price of a pint; another reason, incidentally, for me to take up copywriting). I stared out as a painter (not enough talent; my brush hand never being able to match what I saw in my head). I was then an actor, scriptwriter, and fringe theatre director. I've been a freelance writer for many years now, fiction, non-fiction - English countryside writing - but times are changing, and the work is drying up, so any minute now I shall be emerge as a copywriter. I'm going to put a dedicated website up shortly to show samples and then I will hit the phone, cold-calling in earnest (it is said that every ten cold-calls will, statistically, result in at least one positive response; we'll see. I have, incidentally, already elsewhere on the forum talked of how, as an actor, I deal with this business of approaching complete strangers ). I'm off to make a pot of tea now - it will be a bit of a squeeze in the kitchen, getting you all in, but if some of you don't mind standing you're most welcome to join me. Good luck - Peter. |

Donna, I just remembered that I have a page on bookmarks from a site called PowerHomeBiz.com, headed: How To Create a Brochure (which is precisely what I wanted to know). It has everything (italics here) you could possible want to know - including the right questions to ask a prospect client. If you can't dig it up from their site then perhaps someone would tell me how I can get it to you by email - I'm afraid I'm very low-tech. SEO aside, I think - and I speak of course as a newbie - that brochures present the most difficulty to a novice, when dealing with small-medium business. Hey - what a great site this is turning out to be! Peter. |
