It would be interesting to know how many people see writing as a hobby, that gives them a chance to make some money out of what they enjoy doing, but would not want to write full time, and how many have writing as their full time employment.

For me, it began as a hobby while I worked as a credit controller, then on December 31st 1999 (Im *that* old), I decided that I was going to throw in the nine to five towel and write full time. Luckily I wasnt the only bread winner in the family, so I was able to do it.

So, who has copywriting/content writing as their main source of income?

Who would like to, and is working to get that way?

Who loves to write, but wouldnt want to do it full time?

I am a full-time writer, but all of my income does not come from copywriting/content writing. I also do a substantial amount of work for print publications. In the future, I plan to devote more time to fiction writing, as well. For now, the fiction writing aspect truly is a hobby, but hopefully that will produce income down the line, as well.

Writing is a hobby of mine, though I want it to become a full-time job eventually! Until then, I'm satisfied with what I'm doing currently, and it's nice to actually make some money for all the effort I put into writing.

Heya Folks.

Hmmm... I write lots of crapola. Yes, it is a full time gig. If I stop writing
I might lose that 15 pounds that has developed on my backside from sitting
in this chair. But uh, do have to eat sometimes, and do have to have
the funds to pay for the food that has been going straight to my... well, you
know.

Working from my home office full time has been great, is great and with any
luck at all, will continue to be great. Of course, if you work from home you
know that means eight hour work days are impossible as 12 to 16 is more like
it on a lot of days. But then us home (work) bodies have advantages too.

Actually, writing is only half of what I do to make a living. I develop, design
and slap up websites for lots of professional and very un-professional people
who almost all work outside of their homes. If they knew I worked in my
jammies (with bed head hair) a lot of mornings, it would make their hair stand
on end. Most of them anyhousen. I start at 5:00 am most mornings but do
take a break whenever I want. I just don't take that many breaks.

I love what I do, does it show?
