Hey Guys lets throw our 2 cents in here. What search engines do you use to find jobs. I have found that alexa.com has been fantastic to find projects. Its a real dark horse pick of mine.

Really, I've only ever used Google, because it's always come up with the best results for me. I also figured that all search engines tend to have the same results, but then I've never used Alexa, so I could be wrong!

I've mostly relied on Google and then finding links to other project sites. So far everything seems pretty hit and miss to me though and I'd love to be able to discover something that is more consistent and reliable so that I'm not worried about finding more work all of the time.
I just checked out alexa.com and can see the usefulness of it but I'm a bit confused as to what the site is exactly. It seems like a Google concerned about displaying the popularity of search terms. Is that right or is it more than just a general search engine with special bells and whistles? |

I've never tried to find work via any of the search engines. I end up getting a lot of leads by hanging around writers' forums and work-at-home sites. I've ended up getting some excellent jobs and getting overflow work from other writers and haven't had to do any of my own marketing or searching beyond that recently.

I've tried to use Google to find jobs, but most of the time I end up finding eBooks that cost way to much. I learned to rely on blogs and forums. You can find good leads from them. I actually found Associated Content from a WAHM's blog.

Hi,
I have done some searches previously on google and though I had a few good leads nothing concrete and I prefer to use forums to meet other writers who can then provide referrals etc. Also like jnjsarauer I often visit work at home sites and a particular favourite of mine is genuinejobs.com they have an extensive list of available work for copywriters, article writing etc and this site is updated regularly and I have had some good jobs from this company and so tend to stick with just a few who I can feel confident with. |

I generally use Google, but there are two sites that landed me the 4 gigs I have now. They are www.online-writing-jobs.com and jobs.problogger.net.

I started on Elance, but it's slim pickin's in regard to rates. If you want to make real money you have to market yourself so that they come to you.
