I know when I was researching some website names, they offered me all of the websites with that name and different dot names. Like, dot com, dot net, dot info. Do you all think it is worth it to buy up all the dot names or just a waste of money? I want to drive traffic to my main website.

I have several websites of my own. I think that the vast majority of people, in the US especially, only think of .com when they think of a website address. (I say in the US because that is the experience I have, and different countries have different URL endings.) WHile buying the .net etc. domains might be a good idea if you expect people will be trying compete with your website too much, I don't find it necessary for most purposes.

We bought only the .com for our business because I think that's what most people
will look for first when searching for something on the net. I check .net second and
.org last. I usually don't even bother looking for any of those new ones.

well, it is true hosting companies encourage a webmaster to buy all the domain names. The advantageous they point out to the customers are:

1) You will save time. You can manage all your domain names, view traffic, change features, and set up emails all from one central location.
2) You will save money. Hosting all your domain names under one hosting plan is usually more affordable than hosting them separately.
3) You can still treat each domain name separately even though they're all under the same plan.

But the main objective one should keep in mind is about those phishing sites. There are many hackers who register the same name as your website but with different domain name. This helps to confuse your buyers and they end up giving information like personal details, emails and credit card number. If you are planning to put up a business site they you must atleast have the common domain names registered with you. That will help hackers to stay away from your site. But otherwise, there is no need to register so many domain names because if I am not wrong website hosting companies charge separately for each domain.

I can imagine a hosting company telling you to purchase multiple domain names since you will undoubtedly need to buy more hosting (more space) to go with them. I think there is a difference in hosting multiple domains on one hosting account and purchasing different domain names for the same site.

I would have to suggest you only should use the .com one because that is what people are used to. having the other domain extension like .net, .biz is not a bad idea, but if you can get the .com extension for you desired domain don't bother buying other extension.

Adding to what I said before:

Myth: A domain is only worth registering if you can get the .com version.

Fact: Many web sites have been successful using .net, .org, and country-specific domain extensions. Don’t reject an otherwise good domain name just because the .com extension isn’t available. If you’re setting up a domain name based on keywords, a .net or .org shouldn’t make too much of a difference. If you’re selling products or services to only residents of your country, a country-specific domain extension could prove to be quite profitable for you, as it tells your target market that you’re specifically selling to them.

I would say that .com is the most popular but if you have a site geared more towards informational content .org could actually be a good bet also, as people seem to trust that name as being geared more towards information and less towards trying to sell you something. It all depends on how your websites business model is set up.

It cant be on the internet Windows 7 Ultimate Product Key like Google Docs. i previously learn about open workplace, but i dont genuinely like it simply because it really is as well similar to Office Pro Plus 2010 Key, and never similar enough to Workplace 2007 of Microsoft Office 2007 Pro Plus. Thank you ahead of time i definitely enjoy it!
