Hi Everyone I am completely new to copy writing and have much to learn.




I have had a few "experts" visit my site and pull it apart with comments like no call to action, too long, too short, not enough clarity.

So I am here to learn, I am about to go on holiday armed with copy writing pdf's mp3's books etc to try and grasp some basics of this skill My grammar is dreadful can't spell so its going to be an up hill struggle I guess a bit like hamburger hill revisited.

In my favour though I do have an wild imagination and a little weird in my thinking sometimes and I have had 2 compliments on my writing with a comment i should learn to be a copy writer correctly as i would be good at it so I am totally confused about that and generally about how the whole process works. Oh and I do like to write even if apparently rubbish at it.

I am here to learn and practice and implement what I learn.

I was arrested in my mind that this is a skill i lacked I am hoping that I can become good at this I have know idea where to start exactly.

I am hoping that someone will at least shove me into a corner and say read that or you need to do this.

First one a story of sorts.

I’ve Got A Brand New Combine Money Harvester



I know that’s a strange title and I do apologise; it’s a throw back from the late 70’s and early 80’s. I believe it’s a song title and wasn’t an amazing song, though very popular at the time. The actual Song Name is ‘I’ve Got a Brand New combine Harvester’.

A long time ago there was a poor land owner who had the idea that if he cleared his land of rocks and trees, etc and took a stick and made holes in the ground, and found some wheat and planted it, some months later he would have a small crop of wheat to live off.

It took him a whole year to earn a meagre amount, just enough to get by on, though he had been toiling all year, going to the river each day, drawing water with his bucket to water his crop to keep it alive, weeding, and watching over it at night to make sure he wasn’t just providing food for the local rabbits . Come good or bad weather he was out in it every single day looking after his crop. Come harvest day he was out there picking his wheat by hand, a very tiring job, year after year.

He did this until he was out one Sunday afternoon walking back from the river. He saw a man and a horse, it looked like from the distance the man was sitting down while following behind the horse through a field, the poor land owner also noticed that the field was about the same size as his own. Being Rather puzzled at this sight he determined to investigate further. As he walked across the field he remembered thinking the day before, as he walked past this field that it was ready for harvest the same as his own crop.

He hadn’t really been paying that much attention to the field itself as he walked towards the man and horse, but then it struck him that this field was almost completely harvested. He stopped in his tracks and thought how in the world could this have been done so quickly when he knew it would take him 2 weeks to harvest his own field of the same size working 12 plus hrs a day.

The poor land owner just had to find out what was going on. As he approached the man he could see that the man was sitting on some sort of chair on the top of the strangest looking contraption he had ever seen which was being pulled along by a horse, as the horse was pulling this along the contraption was cutting the wheat. The man had a job to keep up and yelled to the man to stop a moment.

The poor land owner was speechless for a moment he couldn’t believe so much had been done so easily.

The other farmer stopped and said “Hi what can I do for you Sir?” The poor land owner said “I think I need your help, I want to be able to use the same tool you have.”

Not only that it turns over the field , I can also use it to plant my seed, and I used it to dig ditches from the river to my field so I don’t have to go everyday to the river with my bucket to water my crops.
