I think it is a combination of three main areas: 1. Something that you are passionate about... 2. Something you have a God Given Talent for... 3. and, Something where you can make money Intersect those three circles and you will be in great shape. Remember one other thing about niches... you only need 1000 people to spend $1,000 with you to become a millionaire. Or you can sell ice cream cones for a dollar and find a million people that want them. I agree with the post. I think it is a combination of three main areas:

Most people's passions are no where near profitable. I love online gaming but there isn't much money that can be made with a reasonable amount of effort. I think a better approach would be to concentrate on writing on what people are already searching for - sell what is already selling.
